Emergency

Broken belts caused a major shutdown at the Ok Tedi Mine in Papua New Guinea. The mine had approached several major forwarders who would not commit to the delivery time frame they desperately needed. With our experience in the charter industry, we were able to devise an expedited freight solution that was a world first.

Challenge

This was a fast-paced job requiring precise attention to detail. At the time, the project was a “world record” in terms of weight and distance travelled within a set space of time. The team’s ability to efficiently coordinate all aspects of the charter on behalf of the customer resulted in the swift transport of goods, which minimised downtime at the mine and the associated costs.
