COVID-19 and BioHazard response
Safety First
We are committed to the safety of our employees, customers and communities. There is nothing more important. We request that all our transportation partners adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
Social Distancing and Containment
We promote and reinforce all the best practices for personal, workplace and community health. This includes remote working for our customer service and online meetings. Where people do meet, our policy is to keep the recommended distance and use PPE and / or sanitisation.
Adhere to Local Guidelines
Each country and local area has expert guidance from the local and federal governments. We carefully monitor and follow the direction of local authorities.
Customer Engagement Policy
Operation Updates
We proactively send customers regular operational updates in addition to the “always-on” COVID-19 information described here. The flow of information to clients offers a view of the global air freight, ocean freight, and road freight markets, as well as country-level drill-downs as the situation continues to develop and change.
Keep Cargo Moving
We are working closely with our customers, local governments, and humanitarian partner organisations to keep cargo moving! Logistics is an essential industry in a crisis like this, and we are determined to do our part safely and efficiently. #wedeliver
Cargo is an Essential Service
Cargo flow for goods and essential items is prioritised, and countries are doing all they can to not delay or interrupt supply chains. This is not in effect for road transportation which can be subject to state or country border restrictions. The demand for PPE remains high across the globe, heavily impacting rate levels and aircraft capacity, as well as the implementation of COVID-19-related peak surcharges.
Most ports, ocean carriers and warehouses are fully operational, despite challenges. Schedules, space and equipment availability and reduced manpower, as well as inland equipment shortages are causing changes to regular service. Most passenger airlines are keeping aircraft grounded and services suspended until further notice, despite some countries easing their lockdown measures.
There is no question that the current global restrictions have a direct impact on freight and equipment capacity, transportation costs, operation processing times and delivery schedules. The implementation of peak season surcharges due to lack of sailings seems to be more common as vessels are fully booked into the first weeks of May. We predict that equipment will start becoming scarce, especially for inland pick-ups.
If you have any questions relating to the current COVID-19 pandemic or general bio hazard concerns, please give us a call to find out how whether may affect your shipment.
