Project Overview

TGI Cargo coordinated and managed this successful transport with our partners from origin to destination and back again under time- and cargo-sensitive conditions, ensuring a smooth transition from the origin to the destination.

We made sure the container was last to load at Port Moresby in order to be the first to unload in Townsville.
Pre-approval with shipping lines and stevedores was pre-empted and obtained without delay to push this container process through as priority cargo.

Challenges and Solutions

There was a risk of enormous downtime penalties that meant timing was critical. This required us to navigate challenges around timing vessel departures/cut-offs and delays with transport, quarantine, customs and packing teams. The most significant of these was the import SEA to Townsville GAS (Giant African snail inspection) quarantine release and the waiting time involved with customs approving the transhipment entry.
